Honda Canada latest to recall vehicles over ‘gas bubbles’ in brake lines

Honda Canada is recalling about 7,500 vehicles because a problem with the brake system could lead to crashes.

In certain Acura MDX and Honda HR-V and Honda Odyssey vehicles from the 2018 and 2019 model years, gas bubbles can form in the brake fluid and lead to “a soft brake pedal feel and a reduction in brake performance,” according to a recall notice on Transport Canada’s website.

The government agency says that increases the risk of a crash or injury. Transport Canada says 7,440 vehicles are affected by the problem.

The Honda recall notice uses some of the same language as one issued for FCA vehicles in mid-August and one GM issued in early September. Those recalls also affected vehicles from the 2018 and 2019 model years. But it was unclear whether the recall was for the same issue.
